Community First Choice (CFC)

The Community First Choice program in Maryland, introduced through the Affordable Care Act, is the latest addition to Medicaid options in the state. Specifically designed for elderly and disabled residents, it offers assistance to individuals who would otherwise require care in an assisted living facility. Emphasizing personal support for basic and instrumental daily activities such as dressing, bathing, transportation, and meal preparation, Community First Choice aims to enhance the quality of life for eligible participants.

One notable feature of Community First Choice is its inclusivity, allowing an unlimited number of eligible individuals to enroll simultaneously. This ensures that anyone meeting the criteria can access the program’s services. Additionally, participants have the flexibility to choose family members as caregivers, facilitating care within the familiarity and comfort of their own homes.

At American Center for Community Integrated, we recognize the intricacies of the Medicaid process. Serving as Support Planners, we collaborate with the Community First Choice program to efficiently coordinate and uphold optimal healthcare services for those in need.
